Donations
Goodwill has waiting lists of people wanting to enroll in our programs, so we are continually growing our programs as we receive additional funding. Goodwill’s community programs are funded by material and financial donations.
Material donations from community members and businesses support Goodwill’s community services. These donations of gently-used goods are sold in our 25 retail stores, which provide both job training sites for our participants as well as revenue to support our workforce development programs. Attended Donation Centers are located throughout the tri-county area and are open seven days a week. At these sites, Goodwill staff can provide assistance with unloading your donations and also provide you with a tax receipt. We accept and sell vehicles at our Oakland headquarters. For a full list of what we material donations we accept, please see our Donation Guidelines.
Goodwill’s community programs are also supported by financial contributions from community members, community and private foundations, and corporations. All of these charitable contributions go to our community programs, and Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay has an excellent record of spending 94 cents of every dollar donated directly on services. The more donations we receive, the more disadvantaged and disabled people we can help.
