About Us
Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay, a nonprofit founded in 1919, provides job training, employment experience and life skills, enabling disadvantaged and disabled individuals to achieve self-sufficiency. We do this through financially sound community-based businesses that provide vital vocational services to our community. We serve more than 4,500 individuals and families every year, and placed 1,389 people into competitive employment during 2006. Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay generates approximately $20 million per year, the majority of which supports the paid job training we provide to participants and our community programs. For every dollar we generate, 93 cents goes directly into our programs.
